Village in which the library functionsThe Village Crihana Veche is situated in the south of Besarabia, in the Cahul Judet. It is 175 km from Chisinau, 7 km from the regional center and 9 km from the Cahul train station. The village was founded on May 12, 1425. It covers approximately 9 thousands hectares. Two factories operate from the village: S.A. Pepiniera Cahul, a fishery, with an annual production volume of approximately 400-600 tons and GAS “Flora” which has approximately 122 hectares of land. The village has 11 small businesses: 3 cooperatives and 8 individual businesses. As of January 1, 2000, the population of the village was 4480. The village has a partial gas connection. Currently, a project is underway to connect the entire village. |
